 IAAS alum Jeff Eden's new book [God Save the USSR: Soviet Muslims and the Second World War ](https://global.oup.com/academic/product/god-save-the-ussr-9780190076276?cc=us&lang=en&)with Oxford University Press will come out on April 1, 2021.

- The first book in English about the Soviet Muslim experience in the Second World War
- Offers the reader a new perspective on the history of WWII's Eastern Front and the Red Army
- One of the first studies of Islam in the Stalin-era Soviet Union, revealing a hitherto little-known world of Soviet religious life and devotion
- Uses rare sources in many languages, including Russian, Uzbek, Bashkir, Tatar, and Persian
