Admissions into IAAS is managed jointly by the Harvard Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) and the Committee on IAAS. All applications and supporting materials must be submitted electronically via the GSAS online application. No application materials should be sent to the IAAS office.
The application deadline for Fall 2022 admissions has past and no additional applications will be considered. The online application for the next admissions cycle typically becomes available in September. Check the GSAS degree programs information for updated deadlines.
All students admitted into the IAAS program are expected to meet the requirements of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, including a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution, a superior undergraduate academic record, recent GRE scores, and the reading knowledge of at least one appropriate foreign language, such as for example Arabic, Chinese, Persian, Russian, Tibetan or Turkish. A master's degree in hand is advantageous, but not required.
Prospective students should carefully review the GSAS Admissions webpage for additional information.
